Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the training course, the participant is expected to:
- Understand diversity and identify students with learning difficulties
- Be able to determine students individual learning needs and appropriate methods of assessment
- Be able to design curricula and lessons to support all students
- Be able to draw individual education plans
- Master different teaching and learning techniques, responding to different individual needs
- Be able to collaborate with the education community and with parents to support all students
- Develop plans for preventing early school leaving

Learning material
The learning material consists of presentations and support material. The learning material will be available on-line in English language.

Cost
Tuition fee: 350 euro per person
The cost includes the learning material and the certificates: Certificate of completion, Europass Certificate Supplement, Europass Mobility.
Cultural activities: 80 euro per person (Not applicable for the courses organised in Korinthia)
The cost includes a) a walking tour of Piraeus and welcome dinner, b) a guided tour of Athens, visit to Archaeological sites and c) common dinner with live music in Athens. The cost of local transportation and the entrance fees to sites and museums are not included.
The cost can be funded by Erasmus+ programme KA1 mobility of staff.

- Different models of programming to support the learning of all students.
- Devise a model of programming and reflect on classroom practice.
- Understand the range of differentiation options available for meeting the needs of students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Individual Education Plans
- Purpose of Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- How to manage the process of developing an IEP for a student.
- Identification strategies for involving others in the development of an IEP.
- Identification of school structures and processes that support the dynamic use of an IEP.
- Activity: Developing Individual Education Plans
- Day 3
- Effective teaching and learning: Supporting all students
- Processes for effective teaching.
- Meaning of ‘effective instruction’ and ‘explicit teaching’.
- Strategies that can be used to enhance teaching and learning for students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Understand what is meant by ‘strategy instruction’.
- Identification of the strategies that can be used in classrooms.
- Day 4
- Monitoring, recording and reporting student learning
- Processes for monitoring and reporting student learning.
- How evidence from student learning maybe used to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.
- Processes for monitoring and recording.
- Identification of a range of reporting approaches that provide rich information to families about their children’s learning.
- Activity: Early school leaving prevention plan
- Working collaboratively with families, the school community and allied professionals
- The nature and value of collaborative relationships.
- Features of effective collaborative relationships.
- Ways of working with para educators.
- Ways of effectively collaborating with other educators and allied professionals.
- Day 5
- Using the knowledge in your own school
- Reflect on the practices in your classroom and school.
