Exploring up to date information and approaches. Designing learning programmes and materials for education for sustainable development that have a really constructive impact and which help students focus on the possible – what they can do.

Staff at all types and levels of education and training organizations, NGOs and organizations running education programmes for sustainable development, and Museum Educators Learning Outcomes
Learning outcomes
The goals of the course are to help you:
- develop understanding about sustainable development and the principles and objectives of education for sustainable development
- explore international and EU policies and understand their role in ESD
- work with lesson plans and develop your own
- understand and be able to implement the principles of the sustainable school and get started in promoting sustainable development in your institution
- learn methods of involving the community
- learn tips for creating effective messages to win support for and adoption of sustainable practices
Methodology
The workshop uses presentation, case studies, videos, on-line sites, reading, group activities and discussions.
Thematic units
The program covers a general introduction, a brief look at International Policies, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, The Green Competencies, Circular Economy, The Role of Education, A Whole School Approach, Development of an Action Plan -Getting Started, Ideas about Building Cooperation between Schools and Community and contemporary thinking on effective ways of communicating the need for action: Crafting your Message.
Learning material
Printed materials including QR code links to references, videos and extra resources, and materials for in-class activities.
Cost
Tuition fee: 400 euro per person
The cost includes the learning material and the certificates: Certificate of completion, Europass Certificate Supplement, Europass Mobility.
All costs can be funded by Erasmus+ programme KA1 mobility of staff.
Cultural activities (optional)
Includes:
- a walking tour of Piraeus and welcome dinner,
Indicative menu: Cretan salad, zucchini fritters, sausage, cretan grilled cheese, cretan meat balls, pork slow roasted in the oven with sauce and herbs, served with mashed potatoes flavoured with mushroom truffle, traditional cretan pasta, dessert, wine / raki
PRICE per person: 25 euros (beer or other drinks are not covered, except those mentioned above)
- a guided tour of Athens, visit to Archaeological sites,
It includes: The Acropolis hill, Parthenon, the historical area of Plaka & Monastiraki: 3 hours guided tour
COST: 150€ divided to the number of participants. No transport costs or entrance ticket to Acropolis Hill are included.
- a common dinner in Athens,
Indicative menu: Feta wrapped with honey and sesame, greek salad, black eyed peas, octopus, calamari, cod croquettes, chicken strips, burger patties, orzotto with vegetables, wine and refreshments
PRICE per person: 30 euros (beer or other drinks are not covered, except those mentioned above)
The restaurants and menu may change depending on the availability and time of the year and the weather conditions.
The cost of local transportation and the entrance fees to sites and museums are not included.
